I woke midday in a sweat, the oven of my bed,
As the sun beats its arms against my walls.
My throat cracks to release a feeble sigh,
Straining against desire, my fortune exhausts.
I burn at the promise of solace,
Relief passes me by.
Swallowed by treacherous obsession,
To know no other lives
I’ve hardly figured it out.
I’m just a fixture of my own wrongdoing
What malice must i sustain?
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
